American operatic soprano April Martin recently performed a thrilling depiction of the Governess in Britten's thought provoking opera, Turn of the Screw.
Highlights from the 2015-2017 seasons, Ms. Martin sang Norina in Don Pasquale, Kitty Hart in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, and Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen.
She has been an apprentice artist with Central City Opera, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and the Aspen Music Festival. April has won awards in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Heafner/Williams Vocal Competition (2nd Place) and the Opera Carolina Guild Competition (2nd Place).
She has been featured in concert with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony, the Mendelssohn Glee Club of New York City, and the Aspen Music Festival.
She studies with tenor, Vinson Cole and is an Emerging Artist with Virginia Opera this season.
